Bulletproof 020 5 Speed Shifter Relay Lever v3.0
WCR SS Bulletproof Shifter Relay Lever for the shift linkage v3.0 now available. The arm is made from 304 stainless steel. Ball ends are Polycarbonate Carbon Fiber (PC-CF). Designed and manufactured in house at WCR North. These fit Mk1 & Mk2 Scirocco 5 speed 020 shift linkage. They also fit any A1 platform with a 020 5 speed. See list below for your application. Does not fit 4 speed transmission. Rebuildable ball ends are also available. Hardware not included with additional ball ends.
How it’s made
The PC-CF construction has a much higher wear resistance than the OEM rubber relay lever ball end. Furthermore, the PC-CF has a much lower friction coefficient. This material allows the ball end to glide much easier than the OEM rubber. Another aspect of the PC-CF relay lever is that it is very light weight and is extremely high strength. Lastly, our PC-CF material has very high thermal resistance up to 200ºc / 392ºf. This requires special equipment that WCR has invested in. We are now able to make products like this for our customers. As polycarbonate is used in bulletproof glass. In turn, we’ve branded this as bulletproof as 1″ thick polycarbonate is actually bulletproof.

- The kit comes with 4 pieces.
- Lever arm – 304 Stainless Steel
- Ball end – Polycarbonate Carbon Fiber
- M4 x 0.8 x 16mm – ball end set screw – Grade 12.9
- M8 x 1.25Â – Serrated flange nut – 304 Stainless Steel
- The ball end replacement comes with 1 ball alone.
- You must purchase the kit in order to use the ball end.
- The ball end will not work with the factory lever.
- Lifetime warranty* on this shifter relay lever.
- You can lube the ball end with a thin coat of PTFE lube – But it is not necessary since these have such a low friction rating.

- DO NOT over tighten or you WILL break your relay shaft mount.

- Over tightening is not covered under warranty*. We will replace if any failure to the relay or ball end occurs, however we will not issue refunds*.
- Over tightening will deform the linkage arm causing the internal locking oval to rotate and it WILL break. The serrated nut will lock into place when tightening to the proper torque.
- We highly recommend replacing all the shift linkage bushings. If there is any tension in your shifter, you also need a linkage rebuild kit if there is any slop or movement in your linkage.
- DO NOT use power tools, such as electric or air powered impact guns or ratchets when removing or installing the nut. This WILL also break your relay shaft threads. – (Don’t ask how we know this)

- Fits Mk1 & Mk2 Sciroccos and all A1 chassis vehicles w/ 5 speed 020 transmission.
- Does not fit Mk2 Golf / Jetta / Corrado.
- Note: Replacement ball ends do not fit OEM metal lever arms. If you purchased one to try and replace your rubber ball end, it will not fit and you will have to purchase the entire kit. Lever arms are not sold separately.
