Scirocco Fuel Tank Strap Kit
The Mk1 & Mk2 Scirocco Fuel Tank Strap kit that we carry in stock is a brand new OES refinished part. First, we strip the paint off the new straps. These are coated in the same OEM satin black color. Next, we add a pretreatment spray to prevent corrosion. Most manufacturers just paint them and call it good. This will make the straps almost impervious from rust or corrosion and double, it not triples the life of the strap. After the straps are treated we allow it to soak in for 24 hours and then powder coat them satin black.
Like all of our builds, we take it to the next level. Firstly, we chemically strip all coatings off the straps. Secondly, we prep the surface by media blasting it with 36 grit aluminum oxide to help add to the powder adhesion. After that, we spray the Scirocco Fuel Tank Strap with a anti-corrosion treatment to prevent corrosion under the powder. Additionally, this anti corrosion / anti rust coating will aid to promote further powder coating adhesion.Ā Lastly, we shoot a coat of OE black powder coat over the entire strap.
The kit comes with 2 straps. Bolts are not included.
